  This French course, which is composed of a student's book and a cassette, consists of 12 dossiers based on themes related to current issues in France, with particular emphasis on the commercial, industrial and socio-economic life of the country. The texts are drawn from French newspaper and magazine articles, and include interviews with prominent personalities. The supporting activities are designed to promote a high level of student participation through the definition, comprehension questions and exercises, translation and presentations. Each section offers opportunities for aural, oral and spoken work in French. Students are also introduced to a wide range of styles and areas of contemporary French life. Written and oral assessments allow the teacher to assess progress towards the end of each dossier. The accompanying cassette is available separately.
