by RebeccaDeSaintonge (Author), RebeccadeSaintonge (Author)

Synopsis

This is a portrait of the Afrikaaner, Nico Smith, who left a university job and comfortable home to move with his wife to the black township of Mamelodi. He lost friends, status and respectability in the white community but has founded a major centre for reconciliation between whites and blacks - where both Nico and his new friends identify with the shame of Christ's crucifixion, joining him outside the gate . Rebecca de Saitonge has ghosted the autobiographies of Ken Lancaster and Alec Smith (son of former Rhodesian Prime Minister, Ian Smith).
