Author Bio
Derek Kassem is Programme Leader for Education Studies at Liverpool: John Moores University. Before joining JMU to teach on ITT courses he taught for fifteen years in inner London in both primary and secondary schools. Derek is a founder member of the British Education Studies Association. Emmanuel Mufti worked in community education in Liverpool before embarking on an academic career initially at Liverpool Hope University and now Liverpool: John Moores University. Emmanuel has researched in areas such as, parental involvement in children's education and is currently researching student retention within HE. Emmanuel is a founder member of the British Education Studies Association. John Robinson is Director of Research Development in the Centre for Urban Education at Manchester Metropolitan University. He has taught in Manchester, Glasgow and Salford. At MMU he has been involved in research experiences focusing on environmental education and sustainability education. He has published numerous articles and book chapters.
