Media Reviews
This is an excellent book, which needs not only to be read but also to be kept as a source of reference in the practice of ministry. The Revd Kenneth Leech was formerly Community Theologian at St Boltoph's, Aldgate, in east London. CHURCH TIMES, 27 January 2006. This book has much to commend it. It is easy to read, insightful and practical. The tasks in each chapter are quite useful and do-able! And it is an important topic. Donald O'Neill, THE FURROW, April 2006. Ward refers to contemporary educational theories and supervision practices in various disciplines. He avoids becoming merely theoretical through weaving in case studies and worked examples of reflection and supervision throughout. He also provides frequent exercises for the reader to engage in, so that this has the potential to be used as a workbook rather than merely a reference work. Highly recommended to everyone involved in training and supervising people in ministry. Sue Groom, ANVIL, Vol.23, No1, 2006. This is an important book for all who wish to grow in practical wisdom by reflecting on their life and ministry.(...)Wise and practical, Lifelong Learning can be read for one or two chapters or in detail. Colleges and church libraries ought to have a copy. Jeremy Harvey, The Reader, Summer 2006, Vol.103, n.2.
