Author Bio
Carol Ann Duffy was born in Glasgow in 1955. Her poetry publications have received many awards, including both the Forward Prize and the Whitbread Prize. Picador has published her poetry, including, most recently, HAND IN HAND (ed.) and THE WORLD'S WIFE. Her first picture book for Macmillan was UNDERWATER FARMYARD (0 333 96063 7). Carol Ann Duffy is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and was recently awarded the CBE. Lydia Monks has a unique style which combines paintwork with collage. When she's not illustrating, she enjoys Irish dancing. She won the Smarties Bronze Award for I WISH I WERE A DOG (Methuen) in 1999, and has illustrated two successful picture books for Macmillan: MADELEINE THE CITY PIG (0 333 73945 0) and ESMERELDA (0 333 76051 4).
