Author Bio
MICHAEL KERFOOT is Lecturer in Psychiatric Social Work at the University of Manchester and Principal Psychiatric Social Worker in Child and Family Psychiatry at Booth Hall Hospital, Manchester. His main interest has been in work with families and the psychiatric issues associated with child and adolescent development. He has a particular interest in suicidal behaviour and has written widely on the subject.

ALAN BUTLER is Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Social Work and Deputy Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Leeds University. His previous books include Social Work and Mental Illness (with Colin Pritchard), Sheltered Housing for the Elderly and Ageing: Recent Advances.
