  One of a three volume series for the 11-14 age group based on an investigative approach to history. Each book consists of a series of enquiries using comtemporary evidence which are designed to develop skills of analysis, evaluation and empathy. The enquiries are self contained and may be used separately, but are grouped together chronologically so that they can be used, if required, as the basis for a history course giving a good period coverage. They begin with a brief introduction to the subject, followed by a wide range of source material and a large number of carefully devised questions, exercises and follow-up activities.
