He began his career writing comedy and doing stand-up, but soon graduated to film, making his name with such comtemporary classics as Annie Hall, Manhattan, Hannah and her Sisters and Husbands and Wives. His distinctive perspective and brand of humour have made him a household name. He lives in New York.
