The Nose

The Nose

by ElenaLappin (Author)

Synopsis

Natasha Kaplan, a giggly, overeducated thirty-something New Yorker, is now married and living in London. Her life seems quite settled until she accepts the job of editor on an Anglo-Jewish magazine called The Nose. Things here are not what they seem, and Natasha soon discovers that The Nose is a battlefield of near-mythic proportions. As she pieces together a shocking connection between the magazine's founder, the enigmatic Franz Held, and her own family's hidden past, history merges with the present and looms darkly over her life, incriminating in unexpected ways, its taint extending to the very people she loves most.

Media Reviews
'Lappin knows a lot about bad behaviour...that she is funny as well makes her outstanding' Observer 'A delight, and deserves the widest possible public' Sunday Times 'While Lappin's concerns are serious ones, her tone is crisp and light, almost nochalant. If there is any comedy to be extracted from a difficult situation, she will be sure to find it. An original voice, and you cannot say that often these days' Evening Standard 'Every now and again a new writer comes along who confounds as much as pleases, whose vision is quirky yet accurate; who is witty but capable of profound observation. Lappin is the latest addition to this small club of original talents' Observer
