This gives the reader a wide perspective, and shows how the main components of the platform can work together. Technologies covered include Windows Forms, Web Forms, ADO.NET, ASP.NET, and the CLR. It explains how to use them to create a variety of applications - from console apps to XML Web Services. The book provides a good balance of explanations with practical examples. The book is addressed primarily to VB developers, but while a background with VB is helpful, it is not required, so the book could also be used by developers with experience in C or C++.
