The Basics of Corset Building: A Handbook for Beginners

by Linda Sparks (Author)

Synopsis

This book covers everything from the tools and types of materials necessary, to what you need to know about bones and busks, setting grommets, and styles of lacing. Sparks covers every step along the way in great detail, including how to make a modesty panel, to build single layer, double layer, and fashion fabric corsets while also offering her advice on how to fit and style a corset for the perfect look for any occasion. When building a corset, think of it as a blank canvas. From there you can structure it and add as many embellishments as you please. Use leather for a sexy look, add appliques for a vintage look, or decorate with lots of eyelets for a gothic feel. The possibilities are endless when you know the basics of corset building.
