Neptune Avenue (Jack Leightner Crime Novel)

Neptune Avenue (Jack Leightner Crime Novel)

by Gabriel Cohen (Author)

Synopsis

'If we took it personally', NYPD detective Jack Leightner tells his rookie partner, 'there's no way we could do the job'. Very soon, though, that advice gets shot to hell, as Jack hears about the murder of a friend who helped him get through his hospital rehab - and then finds himself increasingly drawn to the man's stunning widow. Soon Jack is embroiled in a cat-and-mouse game with his chief suspect, a thuggish local entrepreneur. From the Russian emigre community of Brighton Beach to the racially charged neighbourhood of Crown Heights, Cohen once again captures the vivid life of Brooklyn, delving into the mysteries of death and love in his unique, compelling voice.
