Author Bio
Mother Mary Agnes was born in Nottinghamshire. Brought up as an Anglican, she became a Methodist lay preacher, then worked for a Baptist children's home before reverting to Anglicanism and becoming a Franciscan nun. In 1984, at the age of 43, she knew that God was calling her to live a life of poverty and prayer in the Scottish Islands. Previously, writing as Sister Agnes, she wrote A Tide that Sings and The Song of the Lark (both Triangle). She was officially made Mother of the Society of Our Lady of the Isles in 1993.
