Media Reviews
Charming adventure to be read with small children, this board book written and illustrated by father and daughter team, Chloe and Mick Inkpen are a delight. . . Harriet (four in April) absolutely loved them. PWT rating: 5 hearts. * parentingwithouttears.com *
We really do enjoy the Zoe and Beans books in our household, they seem to appeal to all three children (aged 2- nearly7) which makes for an easy bedtime reading session. The illustrations are lovely and the stories fairly simple with easy to identify themes which appeal and inspire all the children and always lead to heated debates. * beingamummy.co.uk *
As with all of the other books in this series, the illustrations and story are really simple and engaging for young children and I have really enjoyed sitting down with Little Miss A and looking at the books. * mummyoftwo.com *
The new Zoe and Beans board books are lovely additions to the series. They're the perfect length for a bedtime story and my 2 year old is just like Zoe, especially in the We're Not Scared book. She's pretty fearless and acts just like her older brother. The stories are engaging and the illustrations are lively and bring each story to life. We can't wait to see more of the adventures of Zoe and Beans. * the-gingerbread-house.co.uk *
We LOVE, Love, Love Zoe and Beans books in the Mellow Household. In fact, I think I average 6 times a week at bedtime in the presence of Zoe and Beans. . . I'm so glad that there are Zoe and Beans board books that I can let Holly loose on without fear of pages being torn in what I know will become family favourites. * mellowmummy.co.uk *
As always, both books feature really sweet, simple stories and gorgeous, brightly coloured, eye-catching illustrations. . . Libby always loves the Zoe and Beans books, and each time she has some new ones I notice her taking in more and more from both the story and the illustrations. This time, she particularly loved looking for the ladybird. I know how much she enjoyed the books, because a couple of days after we'd last read them, we were sat on the bed in my room reading when Libby suddenly jumped up. She climbed off the bed and ran into her room, shouting read the Beans book! Sure enough, back she came with one of these books in each hand. I think it's safe to say that they're a hit! * plutoniumsox.blogspot.co.uk *
Millie especially loves the Zoe & Beans range. She is just two and the lovely bright illustrations really capture her interest. . . . Hello Ladybird is a really lovely hide-and-seek story. Zoe and Beans find a ladybird, but then it goes missing! Whilst looking for the ladybird, they find lots of other things! It is a really fun story, I suspect Millie can relate to it because she is so inquisitive at the moment! * Oneblueonepink.com *
When we received a parcel from Macmillan at the weekend and I showed LM the contents she got very excited! She instantly recognised her favourites and started laughing and clapping. I really wish I'd videoed her reaction to share with you, I suspect she is Zoe and Beans' number one fan. . . Both books are short and are definitely aimed at young toddlers, I would say from around age one to three. Bud isn't as interested in them as his sister but he loves how excited she gets with them and is also happy to show them to her, or she will look at them on her own too. I really enjoy that LM recognises the characters and books now and that she shows a clear preference. * redrosemummy.com *
