Aunt Amelia

Aunt Amelia

by RebeccaCobb (Author)

Synopsis

When Mum and Dad go away for the night, Aunt Amelia comes to look after one very cross little girl and boy. They do NOT want to be looked after and, even worse, Mum has left a list of boring instructions. But Aunt Amelia turns out to be rather different from expected . . . and a LOT more fun!

Aunt Amelia is a charmingly funny, warm and beautiful story from Rebecca Cobb, the hugely talented creator of Lunchtime.

Gorgeous illustrations accompany sweet, funny, friendly text - every child (and adult!) will wish for an aunt like Amelia!

Media Reviews
One of my favourite books of the year from rising star Cobb who missed out on this year's Greenaway but will win it one day. Exquisite illustrations, charming and funny. I love her child's eye view. The Bookseller's Buyers Guide Snuggle up and read them a beautiful illustrated story Sunday Times Style Magazine The final image of the children fighting back giggles as they ask for another list next time she visits is a great end to a flawless book. It is one more charming release by Rebecca Cobb, who is something like Aunt Amelia herself with her ability to bring us a bout of joy before disappearing to create the next masterpiece. nightlightbooks.wordpress.com Cobb's illustrations ooze colour, noise, wit and warmth with a perfect understanding of what makes little ones laugh out loud. Author Bio
Rebecca Cobb is a rising star in children's picture books. Having collaborated on two picture storybooks with the Orange-Prize winner Helen Dunmore, Rebecca's debut solo project, the hugely accomplished and heart-breakingly beautiful MISSING MUMMY (978-0-230-74951-1), was published by Macmillan in 2011. The gorgeously funny and well-received LUNCHTIME (978-0-230-74952-8) followed and, in addition, Rebecca's stunning illustrations accompanied Julia's Donaldson's wonderfully lyrical story in THE PAPER DOLLS (978-0-230-74108-9). AUNT AMELIA is every bit as warm, engaging and original as Rebecca's existing books, and is sure to continue to establish her as a real 'one to watch'. Rebecca lives in Cornwall.
