Author Bio
COWAN ERVINE is Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at the University of Dundee, UK. He joined the Faculty of Law after qualifying as a solicitor in Northern Ireland, and has also spent a year as a visiting professor at the University of Santa Clara, California on the Fulbright programme. He was a member of the Scottish Consumer Council from 1986-94, a member of the Sheriff Court Rules Council from 1990-2000 and is a member of the Consumer Law Enforcement Forum. He is Scottish editor of Butterworths Trading and Consumer Law, and Sweet and Maxwell's Encyclopedia of Consumer Law.
