American Skin

American Skin

by Don De Grazia (Author)

Synopsis

'When things got to crazy with the cops I suggested to Timmy Penn that we go to college, but he just laughed and said skinheads were working class for life. Aside from my dad, who was in prison at the time, I looked up to Tim more than anyone else. Aside from my dad.' When Alex Verdi returns home from school one day to find his home surrounded by armed police, he immediately thinks of the packages of marijuana stashed in his father's desk and decides to hide. At night, when the cops have left, he goes to the house and finds the afternoon paper in the driveway; his parents have been arrested and he is being sought for questioning. It's definitely time to go. Taking his father's shotgun, he hitches to Chicago. When he meets Timmy Penn and his gang after a fight on a train, his new life as an American skinhead begins.
