Fremder

Fremder

by RussellHoban (Author)

Synopsis

On 4 November 2052 Fremder Gorn is found drifting in space a few megaklicks off Badu, a planet in the Fourth Galaxy. He's the only survivor from CLEVER DAUGHTER, a battered old tanker. Why did Fremder survive? It is connected with the fact that he's the son of Helen Gorn, inventor of 'Flicker Drive', a revolutionary mode of transport that disappears people and makes them reappear somewhere else? Helen commited suicide when she was seven months pregnant, but she left him a legacy, an implant in his brain that makes him different to other men and an object of curiosity and concern to all-powerful Corporation. Set in a brilliantly realised dystopian future, FREMDER is an extraordinary work from the imagination of a startlingly original writer - his finest novel since RIDDLEY WALKER.
