Author Bio
William Mayne was born in Hull and attended the Cathedral Choir School at Canterbury from which he garnered the material for his classic Cathedral books. Since then he has written many novels for children, winning the Carnegie Medal for A Grass Rope. He lives in Yorkshire. Sophy Williams is also known on the RHCB list for Nana's Garden.
