Criminal Law (Blackstone's Law Q&A)

Criminal Law (Blackstone's Law Q&A)

by Mike Molan (Author), Geoff Douglas (Author)

Synopsis

The ideal revision aid, Q&A Criminal Law gives students the opportunity to practise their exam techniques and evaluate and assess their progress. The book is divided into chapters covering each major topic on law courses, and contains around fifty questions and full answers designed to test even the best-prepared student. Each chapter contains an introduction focusing on important legal aspects, and flowcharts are used to clarify issues and aid decision-making. After every question there is a commentary highlighting key points, followed by bullet-pointed answer plans, and finally a model answer. In the dedicated introductory chapter on exam technique, the authors advise how to tackle both essay and problem based questions. Throughout the book, the authors discuss the most effective techniques for writing examination answers and tackling legal problems, showing exactly what the examiners are looking for. Q&A Criminal Law ends with a chapter of 'mixed subject questions' which will provide the perfect dry run at an examination. This fifth edition has been substantially modified to take account of changes in the law on provocation, as well as incorporating significant new case-law on the Sexual Offences Act 2003 as the effect of the Act starts to feed through into decided cases. The chapter on participation and the questions on assault have also been updated to reflect case law development, and this edition covers developments in relation to the law of duress (particularly self-induced). The further reading references have been thoroughly updated to take into account current books and journal articles on criminal law. Online resource centre Q&A Criminal Law is accompanied by an Online Resource Centre providing annotated web links and a glossary of terms from the Dictionary of Law.
