  This book provides a thematic study of the development of medical care and public health from the Middle Ages to the present day. While it was written to meet the requirements of the new ULEAC Key Stage 4 syllabuses, it is also appropriate for existing GCSE syllabuses for all Boards. The author published a sourcebook with us in 1990 with the same title. However, this new volume is a self-standing textbook with full narrative coverage over a longer timespan and extensive new source material.
