Author Bio
David Melling is one of the most exciting picture book illustrators around at the moment. He has a lovely child-friendly style and was shortlisted for the Smarties prize in 1994, and the Kate Greenaway Award in 2003. He previously worked for animation studios as an assistant illustrator and animation artist, and his animation work included films such as Father Christmas and Grandpa by Raymond Briggs. David quickly discovered that illustrating books was his passion. He has worked with many different authors including Ian Whybrow, Vivian French, Mike Haines and Hiawyn Oram. He lives near Oxford with his wife and daughter.
