Christine Nicholls has been Editor of the Supplements since 1989. As well as being joint-editor of the DNB 1961-1970, DNB 1971-80, DNB 1981-85, and Editor of Missing Persons, she is the author of Power, A Political History of the Twentieth Century and the forthcoming Hutchinson Encyclopaedia of Biography. Keith Thomas is President of Corpus Christi College Oxford and of the British Academy.
