Synopsis

This is a brand new large print dictionary, offering to visually impaired readers a good, up-to-date text in a large, clear font. This large print dictionary is one of the new generation of Oxford dictionaries, derived from the database of the ground-breaking New Oxford Dictionary of English. It provides good coverage of the core English vocabulary, including new words and senses, with definitions that are concise and easy-to-understand. It also includes short, accessible notes on difficult spellings, confusable words, and tricky areas of usage. Information is presented simply and clearly, with minimal use of abbreviations. The Royal National Institute for the Blind have acted as consultants for the design and format which incorporate specially commissioned features following recommended guidelines. These features include extra-wide inner margins, good quality paper affording maximum contrast between type and paper and with minimal show-through, generous line-spacing and margins throughout, and appropriate font type and size. This new edition replaces the previous edition of the Oxford Large Print Dictionary ISBN 0-19-861322-9.
