Synopsis

The Atlas of Wales/Atlas Cymru features digital maps of Wales produced by CartoGraphics and adapted by OUP for publication. The atlas is published in two language editions: English and Welsh. The maps are accurate and easy-to-read, and combined with the text, photographs, graphics and artwork, are used to enhance many themes of particular relevance to Wales. The mapping is very clear, the level of detail accessible to all 11+ geographers and the topics specifically chosen to interest both children and adults alike. Themes include Changing Wales, landscape, climate and severe weather, agriculture, woodlands and environmental challenges, National Parks, population and quality of life, economy and transport, museums and history, ending in detailed maps and graphics of the unitary authorities. Each page has clear explanations of the main topics covered and photographs and/or graphs to further illustrate them.
