Media Reviews
This volume is especially welcome because so few historians have found the courage since the 1960s to offer their own general interpretations of Canadian history....Nelles' effort is not only courageous but also highly effective and often compelling. The volume is not only encaging, but is also
based on deep knowledge of current scholarship across the centuries. -- History: Review of New Books
