Media Reviews
With line-and-watercolor paintings both delicate and lush, Wildsmith retells the Grimms' fairy tale in a glowing pastoral setting of butterflies, birds, flowers, and wild foliage.... Children will enjoy the farce and the victory of the trickster animals. Just as appealing is the quiet friendship
story. --Booklist
A simpler and gentler retelling of the classic tale... The appealing text is pared down to a level suitable for younger readers, but it does not lose the essential quality of the Grimms' tale. Warm, mostly muted illustrations are highlighted with vibrant spots of color... A fresh look at an old
favorite. --School Library Journal
This timeless tale of teamwork among friends and just deserts for the evil is beautifully rendered in Wildsmith's art. --Yellow Brick Road
