Synopsis

But what will you do for food? Jonty held up his catapult. I'll live off the land and powdered soups. When 13-year-old Jonathan Kemp, known to his friends as Jonty, makes up his mind to cross the north of England by water, he builds his own boat from odd bits of wood and sets off, following the rivers and the old canal systems from Liverpool to the North Sea. So begins the voyage of the Offcuts and a series of madcap adventures for young Jonty. Author Peter Terson made this same journey in the original Offcuts and has created an exciting, funny story filled with colorful characters and unlikely situations.
