Synopsis

Wishing Bird looks at her reflection in a pool of water and doesn't like what she sees. She decides her feathers are too many colours and begins to wish to be different. Every time she sees a different coloured animal she wishes to be like it and her feathers change colour. In the end she realises she looks best in her original state and wishes her feathers back the way they were at the start of the story.

Alison Boyle is a well-known children's picture book writer. She previously worked as a packager, editorial consultant, freelance journalist, managing editor and lecturer. Alison lives in Oxford. David Wojtowycz is a popular, award-winning children's illustrator, particularly well-known for such successful picture books as RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE, produced in partnership with the writer Giles Andraea. Their book THE LION WHO WANTED TO LOVE, won the Children's Book Award. David lives in London.
