Author Bio
John Buchan was born in Perth. He grew up in the Gorbals in Glasgow and went to Brasenose College, Oxford, where he published five books, won several awards, and gained a First. He was a barrister and a MP, as well as a soldier and publisher. He wascreated Baron Tweedsmuir in 1935 and became the 15th Governor General of Canada until his death in 1940. 'I don't think I remember anyone', wrote GM Trevelyan to his widow 'whose death evoked a more enviable outburst of sorrow, love and admiration.'
