by Bruce Thomas (Author)
Bruce Thomas was a member of the pop group Elvis Costello and the Attractions from 1978 to 1987. Throughout the excesses of money, drugs, alcohol and touring he attempted to keep a perspective on himself and on the purpose of existence. The result is this book, a humorous description of a world which began to make no sense to him, except through the bottom of a glass. This version of the group's touring life brings home the dilemma of having enormous amounts of money, but nothing particular to spend it on. It also reveals the author's gradual estrangement from the world in which he grew up.
