Going to Egypt (Red Fox young adult books)

by HelenDunmore (Author)

Synopsis

Colette has dreams of packing a rucksack and taking off to faraway lands - flying off from one exotic place to another as a famous foreign correspondent on a London newspaper - or even as the next Kate Adie. But how can she win the school Travel Writing competition when her summer holiday is the thrilling prospect of two weeks in Weston with her dad? It certainly won't be the same as going to Egypt. At first, Weston seems to confirm all Colette's worst nightmares. But that's before she meets the two boys who take their horses swimming in the sea at dawn: friendly sandy-haired Robert and the dark-haired, dark-eyed Caz who turns Colette's stomach to liquid with a glance. Maybe Robert's right after all - it's not where you go that matters, it's who you meet while you're there...
