The Cobra: My Story

The Cobra: My Story

by Carl Froch (Author)

Synopsis

Carl Froch, known as 'the Cobra', was brought up tough on a Nottingham housing estate. He started boxing at just nine years old, but as a teenager he gave it up and his life became an aimless round of dead end jobs and pub fights. However, his family wouldn't let him waste his life - they knew that what he needed was to get back in the ring. Luckily they succeeded, and Carl has never looked back. Carl Froch is now Britain's world champion at super-middleweight with having won 26 fights (with 20 KOs). His greatest fights have already gone down in boxing history, culminating in his defeat of the American Jermain Taylor in defence of WBC title in April in 2009 and the boxing masterclass delivered against Arthur Abraham at the end of 2010. Knocked down for the first time in his career by Taylor, he was behind on everyone's scorecard but his own, until, with just 14 seconds of the fight to go, he came back in spectacular fashion with a stunning knock out. Carl Froch's revealing story from inside the high-stakes world of boxing pulls no punches, from his lost years through to his ascent to World Champion. He is currently a contender for the title in the innovative new Super Six Boxing Classic, which pits the best six fighters in the world against each other in a round-robin tournament. With two wins and a close but disappointing loss to Mikkel Kessler, The Cobra follows Carl every step of the way as he prepares for the fight of his life - the most anticipated showdown of the tournament against Glen Johnson in May. Massive and unmissable, this fight will take Carl to a new high.
