Synopsis

Are you fed up with bars where you can't hear yourself talk, bored of overpriced theme pubs, disappointed by your pub food and pretentious wine bars? If so- then this book is for you. Whilst some guides focus on the fashionable, and others on the expensive - and some even on the grungy - there are very few guides to London pubs and bars that you would trust whole-heartedly. After 21 years as the acclaimed, bestselling guide to the UK's best pubs - comes a ruthlessly honest, agenda-free guide to the capital's finest places to eat and drink. From the backstreet charm of Belgravia's Grenadier (famed for its Bloody Mary recipe) to the boisterous earthy charm of Islington's organic pub and restaurant the Duke of Cambridge. From the period glamour of Claridges bar to the laid back charm of Clerkenwell's Caf- Kick (tapas and football tables)- there's a gem on every page. Sit back, enjoy the atmosphere, people-watch and scoff affordable food. From up-town to down-town, it's London living at its best.
