Media Reviews
A delightfully sharp and well observed story about the appearance of an ex-girlfriend which threatens an impending marriage. Elise is living in Washington and does as much freelance editing as she can get from her friend Anne, the managing editor of a big commercial book publisher. She meets Donald, six foot six (and gorgeous to boot), with no wife, but an ex-girlfriend called Adrienne, and also her dog Lucy. Soon Elise is obsessed with her, and to add to the problem, Adrienne is ravishing, compelling, beautiful, elegant etc, etc. Adrienne moves to Washington and Elise almost goes crazy as her wedding date moves slowly nearer. The author of the much-acclaimed Animal Husbandry has written a clever, very funny novel, which will sell like hot cakes.
