Nick Louth is a freelance journalist and writes a weekly column for FT Marketwatch, giving tips and techniques for private investors looking to make money in the share markets. He is an international journalism training consultant with the Reuters Foundation and worked full time for Reuters for 12 years. His articles have appeared in many of the major newspaper, from the Financial Times to the Wall Street Journal. He has also been on Radio 4. In addition he has interviewed the likes of Microsoft's Bill Gates and Jack Welsh, the legendary Chief Executive of General Electric of the US. He is an experienced and successful self-taught investor and has built up an impressive share portfolio over a 10-year period. Nick's hometown is Coulsdon, Surrey
