They won the Best UK and Ireland Act at the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards, and three awards at the 2004 BRITS: Best British Group, Best Rock Act and Best British Album for Permission To Land . The group parted company with Poullain in May 2005 and replaced him with Ritchie Edwards the following month. Justin Hawkins later recorded as British Whale.
