Synopsis

Old Hushwing has come to live in the barn near Billy's house, and Billy loves to lie in bed at night listening to the owl out hunting for his supper. Then one day Billy's parents tell him they are having a new baby. They need Billy's bedroom for the baby, and so they are going to build a new room in the barn especially for Billy. Billy is very excited. But when the builders start work, Old Hushwing is disturbed and he flies away into danger. When Old Hushwing doesn't come back, Billy persuades his parents to build a small house especially for the owl, and in the spring Old Hushwing finally returns -- accompanied by Mrs Hushwing!
