  This text for pupils features a range of materials for GCSE preparation including work on Shakespeare, poetry and language. It presents perspectives on dreams, paintings, hand analysis, television soap operas and newspaper front pages. Contemporary issues such as renewable energy and litter disposal are presented so that work arising from them can be broadened into other curriculum areas. One unit focuses specifically on the writing requirements for technology at Key Stages 3 and 4, to show how English lessons can inform and support other curriculum areas.
