Its purpose is to provide non-fiction, easy-read books for the primary reading market, as well as to add more breadth to each stage of Jumpstart . Jumpstart Extra Stage A provides ten non-fiction books to complement and extend Jumpstart Stage 1 readers. Every Jumpstart Extra title links thematically to a core book in Jumpstart , and repeats the core book's high frequency vocabulary. Less confident readers are progressively familiarized with non-fiction text features such as captions, diagrams, maps, indexes and glossaries.
