James Patterson

James Patterson, born in 1947, is one of America’s most accomplished authors. Although his first book, The Thomas Berryman Number, was published in 1976, it wasn’t until Patterson retired from advertising in 1996 did he devote all of his time to writing. Patterson is best known for his series Alex Cross, the Women’s Murder Club and Maximum Ride, but has had many other stand-alone bestsellers. His novels have also been adapted into films and into a series for ABC television. Patterson has won many awards during his career, including the Edgar and the Reader’s Digest Reader’s Choice Award.
