Cassandra Clare


Cassandra Clare, real name Judith Rumelt, is best known for her bestselling series The Mortal Instruments. The series consists of 6 books, the first of which was published in 2007 and the last in 2014. Clare spent most of her childhood travelling around the world with her parents, before being permanently based in Los Angeles for high school. Clare then worked for various entertainment magazines and tabloids, whilst writing fan fiction such as The Draco Trilogy and The Girl’s Guide to Defeating the Dark Lord before releasing her first The Mortal Instruments book, City of Bones, in 2004.
