Author Bio
Joanne Oppenheim is the author of more than fifty books for and about children, many of which have received awards and critical acclaim. Currently, Ms. Oppenheim is the president of Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, Inc., a New York based organization that reviews children's media. She is the mother of three grown children and six grandchildren, and lives in New York. This is Joanne's second project for Barefoot Books, following The Miracle of the First Poinsettia (9781841483641). Miriam Latimer studied illustration at the University of the West of England, gaining a first class honours degree in 2003. Miriam now lives in St Albans. She says that her most elaborate illustrations are inspired by the smallest of things - something someone said, or a sweet wrapper, or a road sign! Miriam has also written and illustrated Shrinking Sam (9781846860379 Jim Broadbent is one of the UK's most versatile and respected actors. He has appeared in numerous film, television and theatre productions. In 2002 he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar and Golden Globe for his role in 'Iris'. Other films include: 'Moulin Rouge'; 'Gangs of New York'; 'Nicholas Nickleby'; 'Life Is Sweet'; 'Topsy Turvy'; 'Vera Drake'; and the 'Bridget Jones' films. He has also appeared in productions for the Royal National Theatre and the RSC.
