Author Bio
Andrew Matthews was an English teacher for many years before becoming a popular children's writer. His book, Dr Monsoon Taggert's Amazing Finishing Academy was shortlisted for the Smarties Prize 1989, and recent publications include Love Street and G.S.O.H. (Random House Children's Books.) For Orchard, Andrew has written a teenage novel, Wolf Summer, and is the author of the Orchard Book of Shakespeare Stories, illustrated by Angela Barrett. Peter Bailey is a well-known children's illustrator. His recent works include: Tony's Mitton's Plum and The Red-and-White Spotted Handkerchief - both Smarties Silver Award winners, and Philip Pulman's I Was a Rat and Clockwork. For Orchard, he has illustrated several Twice Upon a Time folk tales, and a four-book series of famous fairy tales, all retold by Rose Impey.
