by JohnHendrickson (Author)

Synopsis

A showcase for the world's magnificent birds of prey - eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, and vultures - Raptors is a remarkable collection of intimate portraits, personal vignettes, and revealing statistics. This comprehensive volume offers an inside look at some of the common birds we see everyday, but also shows the rare, struggling species that need our help if they are to persist. This is a compendium of species presented in a unique way: each bird's history is approached in terms of its classification in a group of animals known today as raptors.
