Synopsis

The Guardians of the Night: a sect of vampires in Philadelphia who don't believe in drinking human blood, and who have taken it upon themselves to protect the humans in Philadelphia from all bad vampire elements. Now one of their own has gone rogue - and is planning to kill a vampire who's living in Baltimore. Two people are dispatched to find Jules and stop him: Drake, a killer vampire with a killer instinct, and Hannah, a human Pl with an eye for trouble. When humans and vampires mix, things always get complicated. Drake melts into the shadows, but Hannah marches right up to Jules - and her lust for him complicates their situation even more. Jules knows there's no way he can salvage his original plan now - to extract revenge upon his maker for forcing him into an unlife of vampirism - but oddly enough, the more time he spends with Hannah, the less he wants revenge. But is it lust or love? When circumstances force Jules to transform Hannah into a vampire, he thinks that's the end for whatever budding relationship they might have had - but for Hannah, it's the beginning of their eternity together.

Author Bio
Author Jenna Black writes paranormal romance books and young adult novels, including Shadowspell and Watchers in the Night, which was nominated for the 2006 Paranormal Excellence in Romantic Literature (PEARL) award. She's your typical writer: an experience junkie. Once upon a time, she dreamed she would be the next Jane Goodall, camping in the bush and making fabulous discoveries about primate behavior. She went to Duke University to study physical anthropology. Then, during her senior year, she made a shocking discovery: primates spend something like 80% of their time doing such exciting things as sleeping and eating. Narrowly escaping the boring life of a primatologist, she moved on to such varied pastimes as grooming dogs and writing technical documentation. Among her other experiences: ballroom dancing, traveling to all seven continents--yes, even Antarctica--becoming a Life Master in Bridge, and singing in a barbershop chorus.
