Author Bio
Nick Barton is Professor of Palaeolithic Archaeology at Oxford University and a Fellow of Hertford College. He has held positions at Oxford Brookes and the University of Wales at Lampeter and before that worked as an Inspector of Ancient Monuments for English Heritage. His main areas of research are in Palaeolithic and Mesolithic archaeology. He has directed excavations at Hengistbury Head, Dorset; the Torbryan Valley caves, Devon (with Alison Roberts); Wye Valley caves, Herefordshire; and Gibraltar Caves (with Chris Stringer). He is currently engaged in a project investigating human dispersals and climate change in northern Morocco. Nick lives in Oxford.
