It goes further to look at the history behind motor racing - the hill climbs, rallies through cities and even the land speed records. Media Reviews
This oversize book is a treasure trove of photographs gleaned from a variety of archival sources, all having car racing as their subject matter. The golden age to which the title refers is the period during which the art of car-racing photography stood at its dynamic finest: from the early years of the twentieth century to the 1970s. The black-and-white images offered in this album give intriguing aerial views of racetracks, informal snaps of famous drivers in action or in repose, a fun shot of drivers recuperating postrace at a Monte Carlo cafe, and several that capture loss-of-control accidents. Fast-paced action and fearless personalities leap from these pages. Introduced with spirit and style by world-renowned driver Jackie Stewart, this is a gripping book for car and sports enthusiasts. --
