Hydrology in Practice is an introduction to hydrology for undergraduate students of civil engineering, environmental science and geography. It is essentially practical and emphasizes the application of hydrological knowledge to engineering problems. In the text discussion of hydraulic processes is separated from analytical techniques and worked examples are included throughout. There are references to the use of microcomputers and software packages and the final section of the book deals with a range of civil engineering problems that require hydraulic expertise, demonstrating the new and established techniques of current practice. This second edition has increased coverage of the methodologies developed in the Flood Studies Report and discusses the Wallingford procedure in more detail.
